“We mistake the thought about ourselves for the self itself, only to find the core remains untouched by its own passing narratives.”

The Application

The mind tirelessly generates concepts and images of identity, often to secure a sense of coherence or control in a shifting world. These mental constructs, though vivid, are merely contents passing through awareness, not the awareness itself. To conflate the two creates a constant vulnerability, as every perceived flaw or external judgment threatens the very foundation of who you believe yourself to be. The cost is an endless performance, driven by the need to maintain a fragile, fabricated self.
